草間彌生

草間彌生（Yayoi Kusama，1929–2026）是戰後日本走向國際藝壇最重要的藝術家之一，創作橫跨繪畫、軟雕塑、裝置、行為藝術與沉浸式空間，以「無限網」、圓點、南瓜與鏡屋建立起獨樹一格的視覺語彙。她將自己的創作哲學稱為「自我消融」——透過無止盡的重複，讓身體、物件與空間之間的界線逐漸消失，重新被吸收進一個無限延展的世界。 1929 年出生於長野縣松本市，草間自童年起便反覆畫下網紋與圓點，這些圖像日後她將其與幼時的視覺經驗連結在一起。1948 年進入京都市立美術工藝學校接受日本畫訓練，但她很快便對這套規範化的傳統技法感到抗拒，轉而以水彩、油彩大量創作，並在故鄉舉辦個展，展現出早熟且驚人的創作量。1955 年，她主動寫信給 Georgia O'Keeffe，並寄上自己的水彩作品，向這位早已成名的美國藝術家請益。O'Keeffe 的回信進一步鼓勵她赴美發展。1957 年，草間離開日本前往 Read more...
