"The Far Side of the Moon" is a photography book compiled from years of Lo Hui-Yu's visual creations. Through her personal life experiences and family daily life, she looks back at the relationship between female identity, motherhood, and the self.
The book is divided into two parts: The first part features long-exposure self-portraits taken with her twin children after she became a mother. While the children appear sharp and steady, the mother’s figure is blurry, shaking, and even gradually disappearing. The second part returns to the time before she became a mother, piecing together another form of life through her early self-portraits, travels, and fragments of daily life.
"The Far Side of the Moon" depicts a woman's life trajectory from a young girl to a mother, as well as those emotions, contradictions, and inner struggles that are difficult to put into words.
