Kikuji Kawada
1933 年出生日本茨城縣土浦市，畢業於立教大學經濟學系，日本戰後代表攝影師之一。十八歲時因為興趣開始接觸攝影，當時便以至伊豆拍攝的藝妓照片獲得土門拳與木村伊兵衛評選在知名攝影雜誌《カメラ》上刊登。
大學時期參加攝影社，1955 年畢業後進入日本知名出版社——新潮社工作，隔年《週刊新潮》創刊，開始擔任該刊的攝影師。1957 年參與第一回《10人の眼》展（由攝影評論家福島辰夫策劃），並加入日本攝影師協會。
1959 年 2 月離開新潮社成為自由接案攝影師，舉辦了首次個人展《海》，展出作品取材自引起日本反核聲浪的第五福龍丸事件。同年 7 月與曾一同參與《10人の眼》展的細江英公、東松照明、佐藤明、丹野章、奈良原一高等人成立攝影團體 VIVO。
1965 年發行的攝影集《地図》是川田喜久治最知名的作品，拍攝歷時五年，由廣島原爆圓頂館出發，紀錄了戰後日本，如何摧毀與被摧毀，如何轉身面對新世界的開始 Llegir més...
