A Daily Act is a project by Atelier HOKO that highlights art in the everyday and how seemingly ordinary actions could be creative responses within public realms. It seeks to spark curiousity about what is often overlooked in our daily frenzy by encouraging passersby to explore everyday actions, surrounding objects and daily routines through suggested activities.

Part documentation and “workbook”, this publication invites readers to attempt some of the instructions and respond to questions asked in the process of negotiating this project.

The images in this booklet have their magenta and yellow channels removed and are printed only in cyan and black on recycled paper that yellows quickly, resembling faded prints that are left outdoors for a long time, like those found in old barbershops or “mama shops.” With this, we hope that despite the momentary nature of the project and exhibition, this documentation circulates a long-lasting intent to bring art and ideas outdoors to the public.
