Giovanni Zaffagnini lives and works in Fusignano (Ravenna, Italy). From the ethnographic research ended during the nineties, he switched to a photography mainly pointed towards languages and experimentation, which is often related to other forms of expression.
In 1986, on a project by Gianni Celati, he was one of the curators of the traveling exibit and the volume Traversate del deserto (Desert crossings, Ravenna, Essegi Editore); in 2016 he curated the exibit and the volume Abitare il deserto (Living the desert, Ravenna, Osservatorio fotografico).
