Glenn Martens is a Paris-based, Belgian designer and the creative director of both Diesel and Y/Project. Martens sees his designs as a way to create a frame past the limits of the body. His work is steeped in gothic imagery taken from Flemish masters, often reworked through a contemporary, digitally informed lens. This juxtaposition plays a central role here, balancing the historical with the now. A substantial portfolio shot in his hometown of Bruges plays on this theme, with iconic Belgian models photographed throughout the medieval city.
