The official catalogue for Mikiya Takimoto’s solo exhibition, Mikiya Takimoto: LUNATION — Reading Celestial Bodies from the Sea, held at the Chigasaki City Museum of Art. The book features approximately 100 works, including selections from Takimoto’s previous body of work and his new series LUNATION, photographed under moonlight along the coast of Chigasaki. This comprehensive volume also includes contributions by Eloise Conesa, Chief Curator of Contemporary Photography at the Bibliothèque nationale de France, and Takahiro Ito, Curator at the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum, as well as commentary on the works by Mikiya Takimoto himself. The transparent cover evokes the color of the atmosphere that separates the “universe” from the “Earth,” radiating a subtle blue light. This is presented as a special edition with a sleeve, a version that was not available for purchase at the museum.
