Diane Arbus
攝影家 Diane Arbus 1923 年生於美國，專注於拍攝社會中的邊緣個體，如同性戀者、侏儒症患者、脫衣舞孃、精神病患、雙胞胎及三胞胎等不被當時社會風氣所認可的對象，她以攝影挑戰禁忌，在怪誕的影像風格中嘗試消弭所謂正常與不正常的邊界。
1941 年，18 歲的 Diane 與美國演員 Allan Arbus 結婚，婚後不久她收到人生第一台相機，從而開啟她的攝影生涯。同年她拜訪了攝影家 Alfred Stieglitz 的畫廊，並學習攝影家 Mathew Brady、Paul Strand 及 Eugène Atget 等人的攝影風格。1946 至 1956 年間她與丈夫共同從事商業攝影工作，為 Diane 父親經營的百貨公司拍攝廣告。1956 年，她決心離開商業攝影，開始個人創作。1959 年 Diane 與 Allan 離婚，但始終維持緊密的關係。
